I've read that the 40nm GPU in this card has a problem of heavy leakage and poor manufacturing yields. I guess this is sometimes a problem on new processors. Should one be worried about buying this first run vid card with a GPU that has leakage? What's the long term dependability? Will it OC without burning out in a few months?

I don't know about leakage they seem to be rather power efficient when they work. Yeah yields are crap.

Anything you Buy won't have these problems. They've been thoroughly tested.

Yup. The yields at 40 nm haven't been great, but also there was a larger than anticipated demand for the HD4770, so the cards sold out pretty fast, and they have been unable to keep up supply with demand. So if you can get ahold of one, it will be fine - the hard part is just being able to buy one, they are old sold out.
