It probably gets the other 32mb for textures from the main memory.

Excellent score there han888. I have an Athlon thunderbird 800 with a 32MB MX, and I get 4479. With your 882 over my 800, and your 192MB of 133RAM over my 96MB of 100RAM, that sounds about right.

i have a score of 2567.... but then again, i am using a Voodoo3 2000PCI with an intel 810e chipset and a PIII 500... so i suppose it isn't too bad. the voodoo is also clocked @175mhz

I wonder how many times I will say this....don't bother with 3DMark, it isn't any good, the score you get with it is pointless to even worry about, just use a few games for real benchmarking.

yesh...I get a 2500 in 3Dmark with my Hercules GF2 MX. It's probably my system slowing it down... P2 450, 256MB RAM, Win2k. The problem with game FPS tests, they are very dependent on CPU and many other sysem factors. 3DMark, while I don't like it too much, at least focuses on the device being tested. But as I can prove, even that isn't totally true.

The same reason they hate MDK2: it uses T&L. ;)

You're right, I have a Voodoo5. But I was against 3DMark back when I had a TNT2u as well. It's just that everyone thinks it is like the greatest D3D benchmark in the world, and it really isn't very good at all. Ever notice how many posts there are of people wondering why their score is so low? Their game scores are fine, but for some reason their 3DMark score isn't...hmm...maybe a bad benchmark? BFG10K, I don't hate MDK2, actually. The V5 may suck at it, but it's still a good benchmark to show the capabilities of T&L. I'm not one of those idiots that will run around claiming software T&L is faster than hardware.

Deeko, Voodoo5 is a good card too, but i have a geforce card, that's why i use 3dmark2000 to compare with other people have! i just feel my mark is too low, that' why i asked anybody have a same setup with me! if i dont use 3dmark2000 to compare so with what i must use to compare?? for another reason how do u know if the new driver improve the performance if u dont run the benchmark, like when the voodoo5 release the new driver, they also use the benchmark to test the dirver, and from the mark they will know that the new driver improves the performance, of course for voodoo user they use ut mark to test the driver! because ut run better with glide that voodoo card have :) and sorry about my english all, because english is my third language :)

The thing about 3DMark is, two people could have exactly the same setup, but get very different scores. For benchmarking, there IS other stuff than 3Dmark. Quake III is a good benchmark, UT isn't really. MDK2 is good to show the capabilites of T&L. Basically, any game that isn't CPU limited(like UT) is a better benchmark than 3DMark. And I acutally do think UT is better than 3DMark, and UT isn't very good, soo.....
