What do you do with a 12 year old, assuming the story is true as described? He needs to have the living crap beat out of him, but the law doesn't allow that..

I had friends who were shot and their names and pictures were on the local news - they god damn news even accused them of being involved in gang activites - why the fvck is this ANY of your god damn business?

Oh, shut up with your whining. If they didn't want it to be our business they would not have published the story. They don't even have to give out names, but some more descriptiveness would be nice to convey what happened.

Stop being so whiny.

Um, they already caught the kid... they only give that kind of information out when they're still looking for the suspect. And it's a kid, there are laws about what information you can give out.

They can't give out the kid's personal info like name. But they could expand on their story a little and decribe what everyone is wondering about, such as how a 12 year old was able to rape an adult. Was the kid 6 foot, 200 lbs? Was he the size of a fully grown man? This is a news story, it's supposed to contain information.

But coming from a station that found it important to run a piece about Bubb Rubb and whistle tips, the poor journalism doesn't surprise me.

How the hell am I being so whiny? What are you going to do with this information? What would you do if there was more detail about this news? It's just more crap for people like us to gossip about and forget while the people involved are scarred for life. I have to see that everytime I see my friends, when they have random bouts of panic attacks. Don't you fvcking tell me the stop whining.

Oh man, quit it with the snot nosed little kid whining already.

A news story is supposed to be descriptional. That is a basic of journalism. But news has deviated from that, and has steered towards sensationalism and gossip. Facts are no longer considered important in stories anymore, only sensationalist headlines have much importance.

If you want to talk to me like an adult, I'll talk to you. But if you're going to whine like a little brat, I'm going to ignore you. And quit it with the 16-year-oldish profanity in your posts- it's corny.

Hahah, this is local. I saw this on the news too, I couldn't help but laugh when this came up when we were eating dinner.

Yeah, it's still a crime. But kind of funny in one aspect (not that she was raped, but that a 12 year old, a boy who could very well be her child's age, raped her.)

They probably weren't there for the arrest. And i doubt the kid parents would have granted a visit from the media. It's very typical for the media to release what they know for the breaking news, then go indepth when they can.

Stop being so whiny.

Lets say you had a little brother. Your little brother went into a bad neighborhood to hang out with a friend. He then was shot and killed for no apperant reason. Then the news said that he was killed in gang while dealing with gang activities. Would you be ticked at the news?

The news is supposed to provide good information. Anymore its all about there big fat wallets. The news didnt used to have all this crap about who J-lo is dating. Its bs. And im sure if if someone wanted the news people to not post the story because they didnt want to have to deal with something like that in public, then im sure the news would do it anyway. You are being the child, is this about age? he cussed Whoopty doo. Does that make his point any less valid? Or is it you just trying to piss someone off cause you cant debate without attacking someones age?

Im just sick of people hiding behind the old "o you must be sixteen stop whining" crap. Its really getting old. If you dont like what someones saying go against it, but dont be a prick about it and make it seem like being sixteen is soo bad because they have graduated from "our level" with age making them king sh!t. Thats all.

I have to admit, I did overreact, and no, I'm not some teenaged kid cussing up a storm.

But you still didn't answer my question, did you? How is this really relevent to any single thing going on in your life? If it did, you'd already have the details. What if this was your mother, would you want her name, address, and photo be on the front page of the news?

A news story is supposed to be descriptional. That is a basic of journalism. But news has deviated from that, and has steered towards sensationalism and gossip. Facts are no longer considered important in stories anymore, only sensationalist headlines have much importance.

That's classic. You want "journalistic integrity" from an obvious gossip column designed to shock and titilate? That's rich. Regardless of how old you are, you must be a REAL genious. What kind of adult, mature discussion would you like to talk about/a point you'd like to make if you only accuse me of "whining" and "being a kid"? Please.

I can see that you're thinking emotionally, not logically. The situation would not change. The reporting has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that a crime was committed. The crime happens first, the news reports it second.

Censorship is not a valid option.
