Maybe the Apple mobo forces it to be #1 because it's the one supported by MacOS? I don't know, just speculating. I know Macs have different BIOS system from PCs. Aren't the drivers included in the BIOS?

Lol no they have an EFI, which to be honest I actually prefer, it's a small writeable flash memory, it's handy because you can easily write a change to it from your operating system, no need to reflash when you need to. :) It has some kind of apple emulated bios to run Windows, but in all honestly I hope windows end up with an EFI or something similar, it means also that things like drivers for video cards or other such none-sense are readily availible as soon as the computer boots, I.e. for installing stuff, it also means that you can do alsorts of stuff like having your computer turn into a giant hard drive essentially, with Target disk mode, meaning you can acecess all your data if something goes wrong through firewire, without having to disasemble anything.

To say I'm a Mac guy is probably apt. but to say that I'm a linux guy is spot on. Windows is still the way forward for things like gaming.

OH! also meant to mention with regards to the thread, I've figured it out now, all sorted. 16x/4x was the setup to go with, everythings sorted, took a while but I definately see a performance boost. Sorry for wasting time and thanks for the detailed replies from everyone, much better help than I've had in forums past.

Hi everyone,

I've got a 5970+ 5870 crossfirex set up, with my 5870 connected to my computers PSU and my 5970 connected to a 450W 5.25" PSU my performance is lacking in some areas and I'm wondering if it's the powersupplys fault...? Thanks in advance.

...Why dont you just hook the 5970 to the 1KW power supply and the 5870 to the 450W 5.25 one? That seems like it would be at least worth trying.
