Have been biking ever increasing distance. Did 30 miles this weekend (longest yet) - plus I've been eating no more than 2000 calories daily. . . Planning 50 miles this weekend if I can do it . . .

Was 340 - now 295. Still feeling good - actually real good. I've dropped from a 50 to a 46 waist already.

I know ppl say it is too fast, but it is working good so far. Really, it seems just to be strict calorie counting that works well.

Usual day is 2 eggs / 2 slices toast for breakfast. 1 clif's bar for lunch and a large healthy supper with veggies, meat, etc (around 1000-1200 calories. . . ) and a piece of fruit or two.

Absolutely no drinking of calories. . .

It's not abnormal to have rapid initial weight loss but you want it to taper off eventually and look into a sustainable lifestyle (diet). 1k-1,200 calories a day is really very low and I say this as some one who did things quite similar to what you're doing now.

You're going to if you're not already, lose muscle while losing fat at the rate you are going and the amount you're eating. I do completely understand how it's enjoyable to keep seeing your weight go down and the desire to keep it going at your current rate. But when you ultimately get to your target weight you may be happy with the number you reached but unlikely with the appearance you've achieved (if aesthetics are at all part of your goal).

I don't mean to be negative, I was in the same boat before and I'd love to prevent some one else from making my own mistakes if I could 🙂 It is awesome that you're making consistent progress so far and I hope you keep finding ways to stay encouraged to improve yourself and health! One small thing you can change from what you mentioned you're eating is ditching the toast for some oatmeal, it'll be roughly the same amount of calories but probably keep you satiated longer.

For reference I'm 5'6" and used to be 220lbs, I dropped to 106lbs in about 11months. I normally ate a breakfast bar, some pretzels for lunch, and then I'd have a normal dinner with a salad. I was actually probably consuming even fewer calories than you at the time (I wasn't counting) and have no idea how I did that because I couldn't do it now if my life depended on it. I mention this because eventually I wanted to add muscle onto my incredibly skinny frame and re-learning to eat was quite a task. So try to work in eating some more food, it could save you a lot of work down the road 🙂

Keep up the hard work!

Congrats on the start ! Make sure that you'll be eating enough to maintain muscle but loose the fat. Don't forget to read the sticky thread. It's really helpful.

Great Job!!! Good for you!! 🙂

I lost ~ 20 pounds by just eliminating pop, a high percent of carbs ( my body doesn't have the time to process them) o and from what I do at work.

I love the new diet! Lots of fruits and vegtables! Watermelon is crazy good for you!

Nice job. Just keep in mind that if you start to feel that your skin is not taught and is getting increasingly loose, you may want to slow the rate at which you're losing weight. Other than that, nice job. How long did the 30mi take you?

Holy what, 5'6'' and 106lb?!?

Holy what, 5'6'' and 106lb?!?

About six years ago. Took me a while to figure out I needed to add muscle mass to look how I'd want to. I'm 138lbs currently and add around 8-10lbs of muscle a year (can't mentally deal with doing a large bulk). Had a setback (as far as working towards adding mass) with carpal tunnel/carpal tunnel surgery and now in some physical therapy for some lowback/hip issues. Shooting for 148lbs once I can go back to squatting and deadlifting appropriately. Would love to prevent some one else going through the same mistakes I did! 🙂
