UGH, i have just now discovered this... or rather am discovering it this instant... im at 11 minutes done out of a ~50 minute CD Burn
(i thought it would go faster on the client's 52x burner instead of my hosting computer's 24x ::DOH::)



wireless is still neat, though, because this LAN is only for sharing broadband and its so convenient and easy to setup

i don't usually need to move large files, but i think i'm going to get a firewire cable anyway for next time 'cause i'm just connecting a notebook to a mac. wifi is great for internet, but :-/ for everything else

Damn, I get around 7-8mbps real world throughput with my 802.11b+ setup (22Mbps theoretical), and the 7-8mbps is going down 3 floors to the wireless to Ethernet bridge down on the 1st floor (I send files from my PC upstairs to the xbox on the first floor) .. I'm using all D-Link equipment though so maybe that helps.

Yeah. I think my hope for a fast wirless connection is sunk for years (well until it comes *affordable* for a me!).

Looks like staying with wired cat5.
