as i have realized my abit kt7a-raid offers a weird frequencies combination: 133/44 instead of standard 133/33, what's the use of such combination if some? isn't it highly dangerous to force pci up there or is it sure?

on the other hand, would my adaptec 2904-cd, via firewire card, sb128pci, winfast leadtek gf2 mx64... resist that freq?

The two options are just for using different PCI dividers. The 133/44 setting is using the tradiontal 1/3 divider that is used with 100mhz FSB operation (100/3=33). The second 133mhz FSB setting is using the correct 1/4 PCI divider (133/4=33). I would imagine the setting for 133mhz FSB with a 44mhz PCI would be if you wanted your PCI bus to be overclocked. Most current PCI cards can handle PCI speeds in the mid to high 30's, but over 40mhz gets tricky.

If your cards can take it, 44 PCI will give you a minimal performance boost (minimal since PCI is slow stuff like sound, NIC). However, AGP moves from 66 to 89, which could in theory provide a little boost.

There is a good chance you will have issues - my sound card gets staticy, and i get "bad sectors" (zero-fill removes them, they aren't actually bad) at 44 PCI.

If you like disk crashes and weird bugs with your hardware, by all means go for a 44 MHz PCI bus. :p

Personally, I think any PCI bus speed over 38 is asking for trouble, even with modern equipment.
