I just got my 4400 x2 and swapped it out from a winchester 3000

4400 x2
2x512mb mushkin 3500 lvl 2
1x74gb raptor
RS480M2-IL mobo
raedon x800 xl
sound blaster audigy 2 zs

the system stutters and makes crackle and pop sounds with the Audigy 2
i removed it and used onboard sound now it works fine all benchmarks went up considerably. I wasnt even playing sound during benchmarks but it effected them.

Why would changing cpus cause the audigy 2 to do this?
the system is 100% fine without the audigy 2.
Switching back to the 3000 the audigy2 works fine...

Welcome to the use of a creative sound card. Your problem could be caused by a number of things, but because you weren't having an Issue before, lets put the blame on the X2, chances are you need to install the X2 driver and or the MS hotfix. But keep in mind any recent change, bios, Video driver, chipset driver or even breatheing in its general direction can cause this problem. I stopped using Creative cards after consecutive problems with the PCI128, Live, Audigy, and Audigy 2 all on different types of machines.

It is not a fresh install im not reinstalling my whole OS just because i switched cpus.
the AMD drive has been installed and reinstalled
The last thing i tried was the hotfix
i have tried all the obvious stuff
updating all drivers bios ect ect.
