If price wasn't an issue, which would you choose? The 4400+ or the 4800+?

Is the the 200 mhz difference that noticable?

Thanks!

If price were no object I would pick the 4800+ (why not?). But since it is I pick the 4400+ and overclock it

If price wasn't an issue obviously I'd go for the 4800+, but reasonably I think I'd be just as satisfied with the 4400+. Especially once you overclock the crap out of it.

Thanks everyone!

Well, I had ordered a 4800+, but I cancelled that order and I'm going to order 2 3800+ X2 cpu's and 2 motherboards for $5.00 cheaper than the 4800+ and 1 motherboard.

Personally, I went for the 4600+. Same clock speed as the 4800+

For me, price was a bit of an issue and everything I read indicated that the 2x1MB L2 cache in the 4800+ over 2x512MB in the 4600+ basically amounted to nothing. It certainly didn't make the price difference worth it.

For multi-processor aware renderings that I do, it benchmarks (specific to my application) exactly the same as the 4800+. The extra cache size made no difference.

im surprised no one told you neither and pointed you towards opteron. i was going to get x2 4400 but now getting opteron at same clock speed except opterons tend to overclock better
