43"+ Samsung DLP and DVI installation issues.

Hi,
I have a 43" Samsung DLP wide screen TV I've hooked up to my computer a using regular VGA hook up.
I just got my Geforce 6800 with DVI interface and I"m trying to connect the two but I'm running into some issues and I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and been able to resolve them.

When I start up my system with the DVI connected to my PC the screen will run through the BIOS then black out as it loads windows. Then the computer itself seems to stall and I have to power down to reboot.
With a VGA hook up everthing is fine.
After talking with tech support I was able to manually turn on the DVI connection through the use of a 2 monitor setup (1 VGA 1 DVI connected to the same GFX card) but when I unhook the VGA and leave the DVI connected and reboot the system the same problem comes up again.

Anyone know how to resolve this problem or is this a bug I'm just going to have to live with? I'm not even sure it's worth looking into anymore since the DVI cable cost me $80.00 maybe I'll just return it and save myself some $$$....

Frustrated....

My Samsung LCD has a button called 'source' that selects between DVI and VGA. It won't show one or the other unless you push this button. Also, you can get DVI cables for $15 on newegg.com, but one should have come with that TV.

My Samsung DLP hooked up to my X800 via DVI is no problems. Are you getting a connected under your DVI input?

$80? You could get one from Wal-Mart for about $30. I'm using a Philips one that I bought from them on my 30" widescreen Sony CRT HDTV, and it's been working fine. The Philips one is currently out of stock, but they have an RCA one for about $30, too. Then again, you could always get a generic one from Newegg for even less.

One other thing, did you set the TV as monitor 1 in the display properties? Also, are you trying to output an HD signal over DVI to the TV or are you just trying to use Windows on it?
