I have one of these in my kitchen (funny story...was doing some DIY remodeling & needed to cover a hole; the TV was cheaper than putting in a new cabinet) & would recommend it. Note that this is only a 60hz screen!

Notes:
1. Best speakers I've ever heard on a TV. Gets plenty loud.
2. Roku interface is awesome (great if you need an easy TV for grandma), Plus, a 4K Roku 4 is $130 by itself.
3. In my experience, even low-end brands of TV's (like Best Buy's store-brand Insignia) produce really excellent panels in 4K. You're getting more pixels per inch than a 1080p picture, so you don't end up with stuff like crappy black levels that are all muddy because you have more pixels lighting up to show the picture better. This panel looks awesome, and not just awesome for the money.
They also have the 55" for $499 (50" isn't really worth buying...$449, only $50 less).
