42c to 46c On xp1800 ?

Another No.

AMD specs operating temps up to 90C. Obviously, the chip won't last 10 years at 90C, but then again, it might. We're not talking superconductors here, so you don't need everything cold.

I'm reading 55C max from the socket. From what I've seen of on-die thermistor readings, it looks like they run about 15C hotter. So I should still be quite a bit below the max of 90C. I'm also way above the max rating on my hsf. But it'll Prime test all day. My configuration:
XP1600+ at 1737MHz (12.5x139)
Vcore 1.84
Speeze Big Rock II hsf (max rating 1700+!)
System temp 35C max, room temp 24C
