Im building a new comp and just cant make up my mind whats better.
This will be mainly a gaming rig . But ive always got anti-virus/firewall , and a few other small progs runing , so duel core for sure.
I will be OCing the most i can with air cooling. And i have 400$ to spend on the pross alone.
From newegg ... 4200 @ $400 , and the 170 @ 402$.
Now the 4200 is runing stock @ 2.2 clock with 1mb cashe with the 170 runing @ 2.0 clock with 2mb cashe......
Is the extra cashe worth the 200 less clock?
Will the 170 OC better then the 4200?
Does one run cooler ?
Or would there be a better x2 core pross for cheeper? I hear good things about the 3800 x2...But with only a 1mb cashe and 2.0 clock would that run slower then either of the other chips after a little bit of OCing?
Thanks for any info you can give...Im looking to get all the info i can befor i shell out all this money.
