I was wondering what is the best most cost efficient upgrade for this video card, currently I will be upgrading from my k7 athlon at 700mhz, to an nf7-s 2 board with 2600m amd chip oc to 2.63ghz, with some pdp 512mb 3200 extreme ram. I was wondering if the upgrade enough in boards and chip will make me happy until I can affoard a 6800 or should I upgrad from my ti4200 golden sample at 64mb, to say an ati 9700pro or up, what do you guys think, I keep debating the more i wait the better, perhaps I shall see how the card does on the new system and then from their worry, I mean it has to run better on the new system right.

You will get a nice boost from the new system alone, but you might want a new videocard and/or more ram depending on what games you play.

so its either having the 4200 for a while until you have enough money for a 6800 or other next generation card or just getting the 9800 pro now. i'd probably say just get the 9800 pro now.

i would say upgrade ur ram first and wait for 6600GT to come

i think 1 gig of ram is pretty much standard for gaming rig

Is one gig really that important, i thought 512mb would be fine for now, I am really jsut trying to create a system that would run the battle for middle earth at 10X72 the best my lcd display can do, without a hitch and all of the goodies, I am just an avid lotr fan and I want to enjoy this game, unlike return of the king on my current system, that just dwindled to how good it looks on other better systems. I can wait, first I need to get my system up and going and see what I have been missing out on with an extra 2 ghz of speed, plus a 7200rpm sata.

if one can wait, by then I would have spent money on other things, hah, nah, I am seriously thinking about waiting, the 6600gt is going to be something on top of my a list of cards sub 200, we shall see. I can not justify spending over 200 dollars on something liek a video card, I mean my sytem cost me less that 420 to put together, and the video cards out there cost more if a few bucks less for 6800gt or higher. I just dont want too.... reach in pocket wait is that a credit card,..... no I mustn't, wait its for beautiful graphiscs, .... no must study....
