I am looking for a good value 42" TV. If you can convince me, I would maybe spend up to $700. I have seen a lot of friends 120Hz TVs with motion crap, and I don't love the look. Maybe with the right source it would be good, but when it stutters, it is really bad. So if the TV has it, I would need the option to shut it off. I don't think I care about 3D, and definitely not if it is active, passive only. What I do like, is the aesthetic look of a thin bezel (probably the worst thing to look for in a TV
). Two that stand out to me that I have seen in person are the Panasonic Viera, and an LG (6200 series I think).
I am perfectly fine skipping fancy features and buying a cheaper TV as well. I will not notice all the things that the home theater snobs care about (accurate colors, contrast, deep blacks etc).
Thanks!
