Anyone know anything about the LCD TV? Sounds tempting since I don't have a 1080P TV.

You may already know this, but Dynex is not a manufacturer they are a private label for Best Buy. Meaning that monitor is probably produced by Vizio or Westinghouse or one of the other countless budget LCD makers.

Taken from HERE

Havent looked too much more into it after reading that, but for the price it be pretty hard to beat. Only down side I can really see with it is that it has just 2 HDMI ports, but with what you save you can always pick up a HDMI switch from mono price if you need more then two.
IMO of course.

This is a repost from last week's deal. Appears its still going on. We had a bit of discussion here

Just my .02, but neither one of these displays looked very good. And I am a "no brand name" or "take a chance" kind of guy. I almost pulled the trigger but I didn't like either one when I went in store and I'm not a videophile or a guy who's that particular.......

The reality is that you can't tell how good a display is from how it looks in the store. Most of the time, they're set to torch-mode brightness and use "vivid" (horrifically inaccurate) color settings. I'm not actually saying this display is good, but a 42" LCD with 1080p resolution for $700, no rebates... well, you know what you're getting. Not everyone needs a super-awesome display, I guess.

I bought one for my parents. First year out of college they put me through and i wanted to get them something but this is all i can afford. Heres to hoping it works well 🙂

You're a good kid.

And Erwos, you may be right. But if that's the case, shouldn't we all get the Digital Lifestyles 42" that is $ 599 with no tax?.... Tough call. I really am interested to see what BF brings this year.
