42" HD Plasma w/ sparkling red pixel

It had been doing fine for it's first three months of operation. Last night when I turned it off there was one pixel - left of center - that was sparkling red for about 5 seconds till the screen was back to completely black.
Do I have a real problem, or is this just one pixel dying? Almost new - so it is still in warranty.
 
Yes. I have tried it numerous times and it is still there.
I called the LG field rep, and he said it was probably a driver board - so it looks like I will have that replaced as a first step.

I have an LG plasma and I sometimes notice blue sparkles around bright objects when I have the brightness settings cranked up (low power mode off, contrast and brightness on high)
