40x liteon cdrewriter max burn only 32x on xp

lite-on cd re-writer 40x 12x 48x max burn with nero 5.5 windows xp only 32x should be 40x🙁😱
 
Am I correct in assuming that you are using 40x compatible CDs? Also were you burning from CD to CD or HardDrive to CD?
 
Minendo, can the drive detect that they are only 32x CD's or whatever? I use 12x Traxdata CD's in my 24x Lite-ON and they burn okay, would 24x Certified ones burn quicker??

Is Windows XP detecting the drive as an LTR-4012B??
