I am running a T-Bird 1.2 AXIA @ 1.2 on an IWILL KK266 with Vantec HS/Delta 38cfm fan. I have an Antec sx830 case with 2 80mm "Sucking air in" in front and 2 80mm fans "blowing air out" in back. I would assume that this is a very good setup;however, I can't seem to get my CPU temps below 40c. I should point out that I live in Arizona where Summer temps are in access of 100f outside; however, the room my comp is in stays at about 75f. Is 40c ok? I haven't had any lockups or problems, I just want to ensure longivity. Any suggestions as to how I could lower my temps? I am also using "Artic Silver2."

Main, I wish I had your problem, my 1G T-bird sometimes hits 55-60. 40C is great, go enjoy your setup!

40C is a great temperature for your setup.

If you'd like to improve temps you might try running with your case open (eventually with a big fan next to it) to see if it helps any.

Same here with the Iwill KK266 MB. I tried the BIOS hack which lower it to 30C but it cause my system to hang. Now I'm around 40 low and around 45 (when the weather is hot)

Se7enFX: Relax and enjoy your relatively "cool" temps. I've had my system on for about an hour with a basically idle cpu. It's temp right now is 53c.

With an open case, a Delta fan on my Taisol and using 1.6V through the chip I managed to get my 1.2Ghz load temp down to 37C, on a cold day. There is no point in having it this cool. If you are running 40C now, you either have an incorrect sensor reading OR you are doing very, very well, and I wouldn't worry if I were you! :)

Wow, well...now I feel both better and stupid. I thought that 40c was too high but I guess not. Thanks for the input folks.

Did you perhaps have a P3 coppermine before this Athlon? I went from a P3-600E @ 800, and when I moved to an Athlon I was very used to Intel temperatures still, which in my case was < 40C. I was very suprised to suddenly see temps in the low 50s, but its the norm now for me.
