If you don't know where the area code is, it's going to be long distance regardless of where it actually is. :)

just dial '0' or '411' and say "name place (XXX) yyy" where xxx is the area code and yyy is the first 3 digits of the phone #.
not sure if they charge for that these days.

I'm not sure how big Cuppertino is but I'm sure it is covered by 408. When I was there, it didn't seem too big.

Oh that is my area code too!
It covers almost the whole of Santa clara county wchich includes cupertino, sunnyvale, san jose and santa clara.

408 is the suck, there is nothing to do around here. The only upside is that 3 Fry's are really close by, I go to the Sunnyvale Fry's almost every weekend.
