400w enough for this build?

I just picked up this antec psu for 30 dollars this week at newegg and am thinking of putting it my dell desktop (came with 300w) to power my old 9800gtx+forsome light gaming over intels hd2000. Do you guys think it will provide enough juice? The cpu is Intel core i3 2100.I think even a good quality 350w would be enough but I just want to double check before I actually tried it out. Thanks for the help.

9800GTX+ has a tdp of 150W... the i3 2100 has a tdp of 65W. You might have been on the edge with your old 300W depending on what else is in the system, but at 400W you have good headroom.

Did you buy it already? For the same price, I'd recommend a CX430 or CX430M (if available at that price).. the ECO's are decent but the CX's are a little bit better. If you did, I'd keep the ECO.

Thanks for the reply Eureka. Do you think it would be safe to try out that 9800gtx+ with the existing psu? I mean, would it jeoparize any of my components if it wasnt enough power? That way I can hold on to the 400w for future use and just pop in the videocard I already have lying around to test it out first.

I would think you'd be fine. Generally if you're slightly overloaded, the PSU will just run inefficiently or hot. If it's a half-decent PSU, it will shut down if it gets too hot/too much load. If you don't overclock it and don't do a burn test, it'll run. I can only imagine the PSU shutting down at worst-case scenarios like a burn test.
