I built a P4 2.0A GHz system back in February with hopes that I could upgrade the CPU in a couple years to a newer Socket 478 CPU. I have an Asus P4T-E motherboard. Is it possible to upgrade to the newer P4s based on the quad-pumped 133MHz (533Mhz) buses?

some ASUS MB support the faster FSb throught their clock generators. There is a way to find out, but I am unsure of this myself.

Officially the Asus P4T-E does not support the 533MHz FSB. You may be able to overclock it to a 533MHz FSB if you choose, but naturally overclocking is never a guarantee.

The answer is both yes and no. You'd have to run with stock PC800 RAM, and mess with dip switches, but you could have an 90% chance of doing so. The i850 chipset normally has no problems at 133.
