Whats the difference between these 2 WD models?

Western Digital Caviar SE16 400GB Hard Drive

Western Digital Caviar RE2 400GB Hard Drive

SE16 vs RE2?

I haven't seen the drive itself nor have I looked at it but just basing it off of the SE16 it leads me to believe one has a 8mb cache and the other has a 16mb cache.

The RE2 is NCQ capable while the SE2 isn't.

NCQ currently has around the same benchmarks as no NCQ. if it's 5-10% more expensive, i'm not sure if u should get it

take into attention really fastest drive Maxtor Maxline lll,

they really much faster than other drives, in most visible, annoing cases-
applications loading, and OS loading.

But fir the speed it is HOT! You will need to use usual HDD cooling system,
which is not as a must for other rives as cold update WD s.
