Yeah, i'm thinking about a CPU upgrade from my 1700+ to the faster XPs. I'm looking at two CPUs in particular: 3000+ w/333FSB and 3000+ w/400FSB. With DDR333 RAM, am I going to see a performance increase when using the 400FSB cpu?? I'm thinking not, but wondered if anyone has tested this.

At the same clock speed, there will be a marginal performance increase from 333 mhz to 400 mhz. I very much doubt you would 'feel' it, but you'll probably get higher synthetic benchmark scores. You really should have your FSB and RAM synch though, so unless you get new RAM, I wouldn't waste the time with a new chip.
