$4000 in tuition reimbursement from my work

I have until the end of the year to spend $4K on certain qualifying educational programs. Basically any graded class or exam that is issued from an accredited vendor. This includes going to a Cisco CCNA boot camp at tech skills, to paying for Microsoft and Comptia exams, and also any graded college class that is for my degree. I'm not in college, so I basically want to try and go to a boot camp or two.. The things that cost like $1,500-$3,000. I wouldnt mind doing a CCNA boot camp....

Any ideas? I have already applied for 4 microsoft exams at $115 each, so after that I have $3,540 to spend. Oh yea, I get reimbursed AFTER i take the class and get the passing grade.

accredited strippers, no?

wow, im way past that, and in my own experience that statement isn't true. I have almost 20 certs, and they have most certainly helped me in my career. Coupled with my experience, I have been able to negotiate generous pay and get jobs that I couldnt have w/o the certs. I never said I didn't go to real college first either. I didn't, but thanks for jumping to that conclusion.

all in all, I have made almost 15x's back the amount invested into the certs BECAUSE i had the certs, and the money keeps coming.

I think the CCNA boot camp would benefit you the most.

I would also look at SANS training classes, such as the network security track. Also, Sun Solaris training can't hurt either - it's very informative also.

Good luck.

Please stop with that FUD

If someone has real world experience, then certs. are a good way to back up that experience.

The person with real world experience will most likely breeze through cert. exams anyway.. so it isn't that much difficulty in achieving certification.

Some employers also require certifications.

certs are a great way to validate your experience. I'm probably going to do a CCNA bootcamp and a SANS camp, probably for the GSEC
