I saw over at Notebook Review that Walmart has a $400 laptop. It's not the greatest computer, but it'll do the job for any casual Internet/Office user and it comes with Windows XP MCE.
Specs are quoted from Walmart's web site.
If someone in the US can buy one, please report back if it comes with 1x512MB RAM or 2x256MB. I also wonder if this is eligible for the free Vista upgrade? I may need to drive down to Washington state to buy one as an x-mas gift for this!
