400+ psu with or without case help please

Hi All,

I'm getting ready to build a new box 3gig+ cpu 3 hdd's 2 optical drives, will be for gaming and video editing. I'm trying to keep the fans to a minimum so i'm not going to overclock the cpu, silence is golden, but money is an issue. so do i buy an empty case and psu or all in one,

is an antec 380 psu enough for a 3+gig cpu and all the goodies or do i need to go for 400 or 450?

What is your budget here? What cases without PSUs are you looking at?

budget is i guess 50-100 or so, i never really had a hi quality case before hehe, i was looking at antec solution w 380 psu, or the soho 400+ psu, what ever soho stands for hehe but that case is huge

Go with a case WITHOUT the PSU. Most case vendors sell thier cases with POS PSU's! As far as a good PSU: Vantec "Stealth" is a really good chioce. Good luck.

380W Antec is plenty. I'd be surprised if you ever used more than 200W of it. Just be sure the mobo you get has the P4-12V connector on it and you won't have any problem.
