Hey guys, i have 2 comps. my mainboard got fired in a power surge. im gettign either an nforce 2 or a via kt400. im going to have 512 MB of pc3200 ddr. Since my 1800 + is a throughbred, it should have unlocked multipliers below 12.5 correct? If this is true, i will probably go down to an 8 multiplier and get a 400 fsb. That will give me an athlon xp 1900 at 400 fsb. Have any of you guys actually done something like this? What kind of performance gain will i get from an 1800 at 266 fsb to a 1900 at 400 fsb? And, do these mainboards run stable at such high fsb speeds, remember im trying to keep the clock speed the same , but up the fsb.
