$400 Dell Laptop

Has anyone ever loaded Linux on the dell laptop that pcliquidator.com is selling?

I want to learn Linux, but need a laptop for work. I am wondering if Red Hat will install clean enough for me to use basic PC stuff on the laptop while learning at the same time.

I was told this laptop is pretty standard, but was not sure? At $400 it a pretty darn cheap laptop!

That price is mediocre at best. You can find much better deals in the FS/T forum or even Ebay if you're lucky. I've loaded Linux on several laptops before, and sometimes it can be a sticky situation. Most big-name laptops like IBM, Toshiba (great linux support on the 2 older ones I loaded RedHat on), and Dell are easier than some of the no-name brands I fought Linux onto. Good luck! 🙂

Yeah i say go into the for sale/trade forum and look around. I just sold a thinkpad with better specs than that for 200 bucks... and there were other laptop sellers too with decent machines..search it up
