$40 video card

I putting together a ASUS P6X58D-e with a i920 and I need a vid card to use for the next year till I can afford a new monitor and good vid card can you tell me the model number of a board for light shooting games and watching bluray's.

If you can stretch a little more money I'd go with this 128 bit 4670 with ddr3.
Much faster for 30$ more.

yeah man definitely a bad idea to put that much money into your cpu and mobo while leaving a meager $40 for your video card...in a year's time you'll be wanting to upgrade your i7 because it's "only" a quad core.

my advice would be, if you haven't already bought the cpu/mobo, buy an i5 750 setup instead. you'll get very nearly the same performance and an additional $80 just in cpu savings...not to mention motherboard savings. $120 will buy a very respectable video card.

4650 HD is not bad atm, I have one and it runs great on 1440x900 on most current games with some quality adjustments.

I can vouch for the 3650 still being able to run a lot of modern games; hopefully the 4650 continues the trend. I'd hit it.

There are a few GT240s floating around for $35 after rebate/bing. Almost the performance of a 9600GT, and a bit faster than a 4670 DDR3. Recommended one to a co worker, he's satisfied with performance at 1280x1024.

srsly, don't get an i7 if it's just for gaming and the savings could be put towards a video card.
