Does anybody know if anybody makes these? The 40mm fan on my motherboard in *really* loud, and I have a Vantec Stealth 60mm fan that I bought by accident.

I see 60 to 80mm fan adapters all over the place, but I can't seem to find a 40 to 60. Any suggestions?

Have you considered replacing that fan with a good quality passive heatsink, such as the Zalman?

I've never seen a 40-60MM adapter anywhere. Have you ever tried that mini-Tornado out with anything? It's probably 10 times worse than the 40MM you already have! I've got a high cfm 60MM fan that came off my Coolermaster HHC-001, at it's absolutely UNBEARABLE!

Ya, 60mm fan will still be pretty loud. It will 'whine'. your better off buying a heatsink that supports 80mm fans. Theres a lot of very good budget heatsinks out there. Some even come with fans so you wont have to spend too much.

I think he is talking about the heatsink on his northbridge.

You can get the Zalman HS here for $3.99. It is about $9 shipped.

Will the Zalman heatsink cool the Northbridge enough? I'm using a Soyo SY-KT333 Ultra Motherboard and not overclocking.

The Zalman will be plenty. It is even overkill for many overclockers.
