Man, I was in my late 20s and early 30s when that 40 things crap was popular. I really feel old.

I'm 25, and some of them hit home. Quite a few I either had no interest in, or didn't know what they were.

I've always pointed out that Sabrina the Teenage Witch was NOT "teenaged."

They do still sell Surge in some regions.

Elijah Wood is 30. He was 18 when he was cast in The Lord of the Rings.

That one struck me. Fellowship was released in 2001. No way that feels like an entire decade ago.

Now that was gay! I would've connected better if they had put something about, say, Sega's competition with nintendo or something game related as I didn't watch much TV or movies. They could've mentioned the magazine "game players" (from 95 to until they changed to Ultra GP in 96) on there and that would've made me feel really old.

I'm 25 and some of that stuff was pretty shocking! Heh, hard to believe the years have flown by...

Lesson learned, life is short, do what you need to do, but make time for yourself.

I'm 23 and most of those mean nothing to me.

I'm the same age as the OP, and american, and I agree. The only thing that was a part of my childhood was goosebumps. The rest is stuff for older or younger people

Actually gotta agree with this. I recognized everything on that list, but "feeling old" is something I never got.

Goosebumps was B-O-R-I-N-G...by that point I was reading Battletech novels which was light-years ahead of that stuff, calling them "scary" stories seemed generous. Vault has been a nice substitute for Surge...didn't miss it that much. Always thought Surge had too much lime flavor.

Graduated college in '86. I'm practically vintage.

Oyeve, too.
Graduated from the Navy in '87.

Show some people in HS (or up to 25 years old or so) this thing and ask them to identify it:

How much do you want to bet that most of them will say "tape backup for computers?" Shit, I remember when a cassette tape was the only backup for my computer, lmao.
