How much do you want to bet that most of them will say "tape backup for computers?" Shit, I remember when a cassette tape was the only backup for my computer, lmao.
Very little about that list makes me feel old, except for the girl from Jurassic Park being older than I am. And that made me feel more shocked than old; I had no idea she was that much older than me to begin with. Everything else... meh.

I believe my mom still has several 8 track tapes and maybe even a working player.
Yer all a bunch of kids...
Probably the worst format ever made. No random seek like vinyl and no fast forward like cassette. You basically had to listen to the album straight through or jump into the middle of songs on the other three tracks.
You guys should go on Youtube and watch the commercial compilations from when you were a kid. I was born in 1970 so I went and watched some of the compilations from the early 80s. I thought it was pretty remarkable how many of those commercials I remember well and I also thought the newsclips interspersed in the commercials were interesting, especially things like 11% auto financing and 17% mortgages.
I cannot listen (download) to them now but will try it tomorrow. I definitely remember *the* sound like it was yesterday.
I'll be 29 next month and yeah, almost all of that brings back memories of the 90s.
Now the "question" sounds hilarious but in the 70s nobody knew.

It's Flash and you can plug in the original tapes and use it just like a 2-XL. I think I only had the General Information tape.

Yer all a bunch of kids...I "graduated" from the USMC in 1973...by the mid-80's, both my kids were in grade school. My youngest was born in 79. Hell, my oldest grandson turned 12 a couple of months ago...
I remember some of the things in that post...but not fondly. (well...maybe the teletubbies![]()
) I was old enough that most of it was aimed at my kids...or at teenagers.
I remember when 8-tracks became popular. You HAD to have an 8-track player in your car...and a fucking suitcase to carry around enough cartridges to get through a night of cruising...then, OMFG! cassette tapes became the new rage..."Look how small this is...and it's a whole album!"
Believe it or not, I remember that product. IIRC, it lasted well into the early 80s and obviously, once AIDS was formally named, it either disappeared or was renamed.
8-tracks in the car? did they skip a lot? or get "eaten"?
I think that's what strikes me the most as well, or has the most emotional impact I guess, the music and movies. Reminds me of better days.I'm edging towards 30 *shudder* and the moves and music always tend to hit home. Mostly because I remember them so well so it doesn't seem like they were as long ago as they were
