The tide must've just gone out.

Did no one do a recon of the area first to note that when the tide is out, the mud is really soft?
 
Funny, but this is actually a repost from like 6 months ago. The thread was something like funniest military training blunder ever cause this was the Army's attempt to one up the Marines in an amphibious assault landing.

Or you can be trained to go around small obstacles when bulling through them is completely unnecessary.

yeah but if i saw that the 5 guys in front of me had all sunk into quicksand, i might think twice about jumping into it too, especially the ones who landed on solid ground and then WALKED into the quicksand.
