where were the cops? arrived 20 minutes later to document the incident? If this were a violent mob.... how many deaths would occur. Citizens are no longer allowed to defend themselves?

I won't deny that there is a social cause behind it (whether because of racism, poverty, or whatever), but that doesn't mean self-defence wouldn't reduce the criminal acts themselves. Look at the ghetto areas of Chicago, Washington D.C., etc and you'll also see an inability for store owners to shoot invading mobs.

See most other countries don't have those ghetto areas in the same way that the US does. Certainly they have poor parts of the city but the crime rate is nothing like it is in the US. It's the social issues, poverty, racism, violence, that needs to be dealt with. Arming people will only get more people killed whether it's the criminals or the innocent really isn't the point. Increasing the death toll, on either side of the moral divide will only make things worse.

There is nothing wrong with increasing the death toll of destructive hive-minded criminals, and it's not like they are entirely stupid. If their friends start dying in these robberies and assaults some of them will wise up and realize the cost criminal behavior. Shooting such people will also be much easier to do. Politicians can argue "Oh the poor urban youths discriminated against! They need our help!" or "Dayum minorities, dayum affirmative action, dayum welfare!" and ultimately nothing will occur except maybe slightly more social service funding or longer racially-biased prison sentences.

What you are looking for is a totalitarian state. They do this in China and the Middle east. Steal a loaf of bread and they chop your hand off. Last time I checked Iran wasn't at the top of the list of places I wanted to live. Well okay they don't quite to this in China.

We all want revenge for this kind of thing. We all would like to see the thieves and crooks get whats coming to them. Allowing shop owners to take the law into their own hands with an eye for an eye approach sounds good. But handing this power to them removes the power from Judaical oversight and that's a very fucking slippery slope. Maybe anarchy would be a better term than totalitarianism. Either way these are the kinds of things that ARE allowed in those societies that we do NOT allow here.

Anarchy is what's depicted when these kids run around with no regard for the law, and no fear of getting shot for violating someone else's property.

Not quite. What they are doing is illegal and if there were a cop there they would all be arrested. Anarchy would be making what they are going perfectly legal.

Their whole idea is to have as many as possible, acting as fast as possible. Officers might be able to arrest MAYBE one or two. That's not enough of a deterrent.

lol @ "Judaical oversight". It's not allowed in those societies. Tell me what happens to a woman practicing vigilante justice (as you would so define it) by shooting an attempted rapist in Saudi Arabia.
