40% off ARKHAM KNIGHT at GMG...

Confirmed that this works (as of this post) for both the regular and premium editions.

Code is:

BATMAN-ARKHAM-SAVE40

Crazy deal. I like it but not sure why games like this and Witcher 3 are discounted so heavily before release.

These games got somewhat devalued because nvidia is including vouchers for both with gtx 970s and 980s. I haven't looked for batman, but I've already seen witcher 3 vouchers on eBay for ~$25.

Arkham Knight is losing all of it's value before release! Vouchers are going for ~$30 on ebay and even cheaper on the shady reseller sites. I mean c'mon the game does not even come out for another three weeks.

I picked up an Arkham Knight voucher from a forum for $20. Registers on Steam.

Because they're crap and people won't buy them AT release let alone after a couple of weeks, so they need to bring discounts before release so people will buy it then before realizing it's sheet.

In the future, mainstream games won't be sold after release. They're gonna be pre-purchase only.

My oh my how wrong and ignorant you are.

Actually, there are some articles about this game that just make you want to strangle companies due to there being no single way to actually get the whole game.

Huh? The game you get on disk or download is the whole game. It's always the whole game. Any extras are just that...extra.

Stop acting entitled to DLC and you'll be happier with your life. Or you may as well give up gaming entirely.

Say what? Do you play any games at all? Every game has a season pass these days. What does that have to do with the base game?

I went from Diablo 2 to WoW to Diablo 3. I have also played SC a little.

A seasonal pass where it is planned out looks like an incomplete game. I have stopped supporting these games the best I can.

The last DLC I purchased was for Mario Kart on my Wii U. Before that, I don't recall buying any DLC unless it was for a computer game that was on sale through Steam with a few DLC packs that were on sale.

Just a preference.

I'm on the verge of giving up most gaming. If DLC is planned out for later why is it not in the game now? Why release only 90% of the game when you have another 10% to be distributed in two to three months?

I have never agreed with this business model. I will do my best to not support these games.

I have a PS4 and a Wii U. My kids love games but I am not going to purchase them games that I have to pay more for later on.

Better question for DLC supporters:

When did it become acceptable for gaming companies to gouge their fans for every penny they could by releasing partially finished games?

Activision would like a Call of Duty game released every year, yet wants to gouge their player base for extra money every few months. Why not release a fully finished game every year and be done with charging only once?

Acting entitled to DLC. Oh how naive and blind YOU are. You are exactly why companies do what they do. No offense meant, we both like games, but seriously you defend this practice? It is deliberate and planned out. It is not "oh hey lets do this" at the last minute. It is INTENTIONAL. It is meant to screw over the pokemon crowd.

In addtion you have this nonsense getting worse:

Answer: To make more money.

Kids these days think a game is a failure if it DOESN'T have DLC.

Solutions:

A) Get used to spending more like $70-90 on brand new AAA titles if you want to play them day one.

B) Exercise some patience, and wait for a sale.

I agree though, the new business model sucks and I hate how people defend it.

That's what I'm being doing with Witcher 3. Even in an ideal world without piracy anyone simply "play" the game by watching streams or playthroughs on Youtube for the entire story for free while skipping needless gameplay filler, especially when said gameplay itself is a only a chore to bring the player from plot point A to the next.

I'd have less of a problem with DLC if they were more like expansion packs of old. These days, they range anywhere from completely worthless (IMO) cosmetic items to MAYBE a couple of extra hours worth of gaming.

Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

that's DLC done right!

I would add Witcher 3, that's dlc done right. Free content for purchasers of the game.
DLC was meant to be small content adds, not the "expansions" that it has turned into.
They also have 2 expansions planned that are more akin to the expansions of old

If they are going to offer "Free DLC" why not just have it in the game? Now It's a bunch of extra stuff I need to download and make sure it properly installed. Also, how can you comment on the expansions when they haven't even been released? What if they add level cap increases? So then if you don't buy the DLC you are screwed and can't max out your character?

Gotta say I disagree with your points.
