My brother is looking to buy a 40 inch LCD TV. Needs to be hi def and all that. And be good for anything in the future. I dont think money is a big issue but he doesn't want something overpriced either. But all top of the line will be considered. If you can recommend something it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I guess a starting point would help then. Can you point me in the right direction? He would want the newest and best. So something from Sony is a good start?

tell him to go to a local stores eg. fry's, bb, cc and chat with their sale persons then ask for some demos at different sets and brands then decide. i'd recommend sony simply 'cause lcd is sony. it creates it and it has perfected it. granted sony's a bit pricier than most other brands just because it carries the name tag and has better pict quality and hopefully reliability as well.
