This is pretty cool, the subscription and movies would make a good gift for the movie-guy in the family.

These look like movies that have slipped into the public domain. Good for those nutty folks over at DVDTalk that like to list all their DVD movies in their sig.

Some of these flicks are all time classics (allbeit silent era stuff like Cabinet of Dr. Caligari). But a good way to start a DVD collection.

It is a good deal....
Also just wanted to point out that it is 20 double sided disks (2 movies per disk), so I wouldn't expect any fancy jewel cases or originals if there are such a thing for these movies.

Just remember:

"The 40 movies in this offer will be delivered as a set of 20 double sided DVD discs with 1 movie on each side. The movies are subject to change."

"B" are low budget movies with unknown actors generally put out by small studios, although large studios also have their "B" movies. "B" movies used to be drive-in fodder, but now are more "straight to video". "A" movies are high budget, big name movies with lots of advertising.

There are some nuggets in there, "Angel and the Badman" is a classic John Wayne western, but again these are the public domain versions, and I suspect the quality is similar to VHS. His Girl Friday (Cary Grant), Beat the Devil (Humphrey Bogart) and Meet John Doe (Gary Coper) are others worth watching.

Just checked this deal over at DVDTalk. Apparently this company has had some problems in the past keeping the issues coming. DVDtalk
