I'm sure it is. jk I'm just doing what a normal ATOT grammar police would do.

I'm not sure anymore. I was always told and am continued to be told that experience matters more. But I've been doing corporate IT for 5 years, have a lot of skills and a security+ cert, and an associate degree - but Reel on the other hand has a Masters degree and he's going to get his first job without any job experience with a pay that is over 50% more than what I make after 5 years.

I'd say it is not an either or. Get the highest degree possible. Then get the job experience. Then get the certs. Then get the really high paying job.

I got my bachelor's degree and had very little interest from companies to hire me. I continued on to grad school and I got a lot more active interest from companies and got some really big names bringing me in. It isn't fair to say I have no work experience but I don't have much full-time primary job work experience. I think that the job market through a major university is much different from that of the real world job market. I have applied at some of the companies that expressed major interest in me outside of the university and they had no interest. However, when I went through the university, they were suddenly very interested. From that perspective, I think that you are much better off with the 4 year (5 year) degree.
