4 year old Mitsubishi DLP took a dump

After a lighting storm last week...hooked up to a belkin pureav30 (everything else connected to it is fine - ps3, lg blu ray player, onkyo receiver) but I can't find the receipt for it.

What is the best way to dispose of this thing? I don't think the weekly trash will take it (according to the website, they only take appliances up to 3'x3'x6')...

Can't really say it took a dump when it was the casualty of lightening strike can you?

I have 5 other tv/monitors in the house and the DLP was the only one that went out...it was hooked up to a power conditioner that should have protected it...so yeah...I can say it took a dump....

I know a lot of people buy these things used and fix 'em up... so you can try to sell it on craiglist or a local classifieds website and see what you can get for it

it comes apart no? You can put it out in pieces. Keep the mirror and the chip though.

Did you even check the fuse of the tv?

as far as I could tell, there are no user servicable fuses on this unit....WDC657 is the model number....

PureAV has "Lifetime Warranty & $350,000 Connected Equipment Warranty."

Start filing a claim.

You need a receipt for it and I cant find mine...but I found the TV receipt from Jan 2008.

I did the reset button on the front panel....

I left it unplugged overnight and then tried it the next day...

I tried a different bulb...
