4 x 128 in Dual Channel mode or 1 x 512 + 3 x 128 on 400SC?

Would I actually benefit from having the extra RAM? Or will running the memory in non-Dual Channel mode slow me down?

Thanks for your input!

Are you RAM-constrained? If so, the additional RAM will be vastly, vastly, vastly faster than the tiny, tiny, tiny increase that dual-channel mode will give most applications.

If you aren't RAM-constrained at all, dual-channel will be faster.

I'd focus on adding RAM, rather than worrying about DC mode. XP devours RAM.
