Board is only going to affect two things wrt memory speed/compatibility:
microcode
trace layout (daisy chain vs T topology)
Most B350 boards are going to be T topology, which actually works out in your favor. Daisy chain is normally better for high speeds so long as you don't have all your DIMM slots occupied. T topology holds up better to accommodating a large number of DIMMs/ranks. Everything else hinges on the UEFI. For whatever reason, different UEFI revisions on the same board can affect maximum stable RAM speed, so naturally different boards are going to produce different results since they are not all running the same UEFI. I would expect most B350 boards running Matisse to hit at least DDR4-3800 with a pair of single-rank DIMMs. I doubt the board will hold you back much, if at all.
