I received the confirmation of shipment today and the prices were increased; called the CR and got a change and credit with no difficulty.

I got the runaround bigtime from amazon, first got some extremely rude woman on the phone, then I said to the second woman that there were big problems, and she looked in some kind of exception log, had to fight and fight

she refused to refund the shipping, absolutely refused. and got hostile towards the end. She stated that you could not get the super saver discount (shipping) and the coupon at the same time.

not at all happy with the customer support at Amazon.

I had to take the whole deal at $38. she would go no lower.


Edit to add, that if you look above at the charged amount, they very clearly gave the shipping and the coupon at the same time.

My CC hasn't been charged yet but Amazon claims it's shipped. My discount was halved from $99.98 to $49.99 on the Amazon site, but I have a printout from before. Will bitch and moan if they charge me $75 for this junk. $25 is fine.

I just called, told them what happened, and 'Jonna' said I would be refunded within 9-10 business days.
Whew... My spam blocker blocked the amazon receipt, so I didn't have much to leverage.

I just sent an email from the customer service section of their site. I informed them that I would be filing a unauthorized charge with my credit card on monday afternoon if they didn't deal with it by then. I had an email this morning when I woke up saying that they have refunded the $49.99, so that was very easy.

all you gotto do is call up and they will refund it, but if you dont do anything, they wont either.

I got the 49.99 refund as well. Now comes the fun part. Trying to get the $40 GC. Is this still being offered or does anyone have a print out that I can use to my case to prove the offer existed?

Ditto...all I remember is that it was "automatic" according to the site, like every GC they offer. Of course, for every GC they've offered, I've had to email them asking where it was

I ordered these on the 18th and they finally showed up today. I'm pretty content with the quality and the price. These are entry level knives, they should do nicely for the time being. I did have to bug Amazon to get my money back. They ended up taking $49.99 off an order I placed in January(!) since there is some goofy error and they can't take $49.99 off of my original knife order. At least this way they didn't mess with the promotion stuff, so I should get my $40 gift card from Amazon.

Here's food for thought (discussion). My price correction shows up as a refund on the order page. Is Amazon going to claim that I returned something and therefore have a total that is below the required amount to obtain the GC code???

The first time I checked the information on the GC (before I made the purchase), I recalled it said $40 on purchase of $129 or more (before any promotional discount). But the second time I checked Amazon's web page (after I received the shipment), there's a term stating that "Promotional code is not redeemable on J.A. Henckels or Wüsthof products. " Not sure if we'll ever get the GC at all.... Anyone saved a copy of the earlier web page regarding the GC?

Still waiting on my GC as well. Replies to the previous two posts:

1) I have done these GC deals before, and one time Amazon botched up my total and also issued a refund, which made it look like I wasn't elgible anymore. The GC still came. I hope this is still the case.

2) The GC you EARN can not be used to BUY Henckels or Wusthof stuff. The wording is quite clear and I don't understand why people don't know the meaning of "redeemable."

yeah, i got my gc. someone at fatwallet posted that they only got their gc after emailing them. well, i emailed them, nicely (i hope) asking when the gc would be coming. then they sent me an email containing the gc code.

I just ot mine today.. but i had emailed them about it twice. email them, they will reply saying that it was your junk mail filters fault cuz it must have blocked their email, then give you another one.
