Element of surprise. And one can pull a trigger 4x faster than one can draw. Many cops I know only sit in restaurants on furthest back wall with back to wall so they can't be ambushed like this. Be interested to see the seating.

Working on laptops was stupid as we all know when immersed in computer we tend to block out outside world. This could not have helped their 1000 yard stare or reaction time.

Give me a break. I doubt he could vote or own a firearm at all and probably out on parole multiple felon. You don't go from participating in politics to blasting cops at a diner.
