4 pin to 3 pin quiestion

I purchased 5 sunon fans from svc.com and they are 4 pin connection fans. I was wondering if I used a 4pin to 3pin adapter could i use a fan controller to regulate the speed even though they are 4 pin? the adapters say for power only..so i am wondering if that is true

If it does not work can someone please suggest a cheaper fan i could purchase that blows a lot of air..sounds does not matter...just needs to be 3 pin somehow...i am on a tight budget..Thanks all 🙂
 
yes it will work..

hmm it's very interesting though, fan controllers usually come with 4pin to 3pin converters...

anyhow, it will work, i've done it before
