4 pin fan question

Senior member
I got 4 sunon 4 pin fans and i want to hook them up to my fan controller..
I got some 4pin to 3 pin adapters but they only work for power...i got them from svc.com.

does anyone know a site that seels 4 pin to 3 pin adapters that have the rpm wire so i can put it on my fan controller?

Thanks

Most fans that have four pin only power don't even have the speed sensor. Are you sure you have the speed sensor in the fans? If they do have the sensor (may I ask why you didn't get straight 3-wire fans when you knew you planned to use them with a fan controller?), then you must have the sensor wire already in a 3 pin connector by itself. So just pull the two wires out of the 3-pin shell (in the 4 to 3 pin adapter) and put them into the same posisions in the 3-pin female shell that's on the sensor wire. Lot of hoopla for not much. Instructions on how to mess with the 3-pin shells and pins are on: http://www.frontx.com .
. If it were me, I'd cut and splice for a lot cleaner result...
