4 pci devices, only 3 slots...

So I have a Dell with 3 pci slots. I would like to leave one open to let my graphics card "breath" so that leaves me with 2 although I'll use the adjecent slot if I have to. I have the following:

IDE card-no IDE slots on the motherboard
Wireless adapter
Sound Card(plan on getting one but its definatly optional)
TV Tuner(plan on getting for sure)

I think I can replace the wireless adapter with an USB unit but I'm sure about the others.

You could get an external enclosure to USB 2.0 for the IDE device...
Not sure on the wireless...

You are going to want to keep the TV Tuner and the Sound Card internal, the external options for both really suck.

Your wireless adapter can be moved to USB with little or no drop in performance. I don't have any experience with USB 2.0 drive enclosures though from a bandwidth perspective, it should be fine. Do you absolutely need IDE? I assume your box currently has SATA? Does it have any unused SATA connectors?

Yes I have tons of unused SATA connectors but for my IDE drives, the prices were just too good to pass up. I obtained a 160gig drive for $20 and a 250gig drive for $45. 😛
