4 Monitor Setup: HDMI vs DP inputs, to which monitor and why?

Any problem with using HDMI output/input over DisplayPort?

I have a GTX 1080 TI (3x DP outputs; 1x HDMI; 1x DVI).

I have 2x Apple Cinema Displays which only take MiniDP without an expensive active adaptor, so was going to use those 2 on the DisplayPort.

I have the Asus PG279q 1440p IPS G-Sync Gaming Panel, and G-Sync needs DP, so was going to use the last DP output there.

Then, I have my main productivity monitor, which I am planning to be the ASUS PA329Q 32" 4K for professional color work and video production editing, etc. I was thinking HDMI for this one.

Any problem with using these outputs/inputs? I wish I just had more DP ports as this seems like the premium option, and hate to put my main workhorse monitor for professional use on a substandard HDMI port? But I really have no idea whether or not that even matters.

Thanks for the input! (no pun intended ;))

I believe you can use a MST hub to get all your displays on DP.

As for the HDMI->DP I forgot the rules on when you need a active converter or just a regular dongle, so, looking at a FAQ I see...

What is the difference between a passive and active DisplayPort converter?
When you convert video from a source that uses DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort to DVI or HDMI (for example, a computer to a monitor), you will need to consider the difference between passive and active adapters.

If the source supports dual-mode DisplayPort (also known as DP++), then you can use a passive adapter because the source can perform the conversion. If the source does not support DP++, then you need to use an active converter, which includes additional chips to perform the conversion.

is HDMI to HDMI bad for the Asus 32" 4K Pro Monitor, or just as good as running it DP to DP?

Thank you bystander... that's what I am asking ;)

Given how many HDMI imports the PA329Q has I assume so, but how can I tell what HDMI is not capable of? Rec2020, DCI-P3, 4K @ 60hz, etc?
