Should players be "paid"?
I don't really have an opinion on it. I was just being a smart ass. Sports should be their gateway to the pros and/or a good education. Unfortunately, most times it probably isn't. And my guess is that the good ones are paid anyway. At Clemson, there were/are(?) the Bengal Babes. We all thought they were party favors for the athletes since they never were at sporting events.

There was another thread here about it. I guess it would depend on the $$ and where it's going. Enriching the NCAA or supporting other school athletics that can't support themselves.

And each check was for only $71.50. How stupid can you be?

Well, if I wanted to test if a certain method of check fraud works, I'd also start small, and work my way up - if you get caught, nobody will think you really wanted to do big bad evil!

Their bonds looked big and bad to me.

They can't all be winners, can they?

I'd be interested to know what they got for that extra 71.50... A few cases of Yoohoo and half a tank of gas?

Looks like Auburn just found 4 new recruits.

How is that theft? Isn't it just passing a bad check? $40 fee and slap on wrist.

Oh come on. It's not coming from their own bank account. It's different. Idiots that try to rip-off others deserve more punishment than a $40 fine.

My bet is that no criminal court action occurs, its handled internally by the school, ie not even a slap on the wrist or repayment of the theft.

They were already locked up and had to bond out. Might get PTI but isn't bank fraud is a felony.
