4 gb, how many sticks?

Go with 2 sticks, because some motherboards have problems running with all their slots occupied. I have 4X1024 and my cpu overclock had to be reduced 100 mhz compared with when I was just using 2 sticks of ram.
 
Use a 2 x 2GB setup.

Less pressure on your memory subsystem, if you are overclocking.

Also, it leaves you the upgrade option to move up to 8GB.
